菠蘿油公主 is back from 廣州!

Hi hi to dear frens concerning abt me ..hehe.. sorry that i disappeared for almost a week...Tue was HK's PH so i skipped monday lesson and combine the 4 days to go GuangZhou..it was a wonderful and tiring trip cos i need to take train to ShenZhen, queue up at the custom, change train to GuangZhou and then take MRT , looking for Hotel blah blah...but a pleasant trip too..with 3 other sg exchange students. and it is my first time to go guangzhou!
GuangZhou, in case u dun noe the city well...it's the biggest city in the south region of China, total area 7434.4 km^2 ( 7.4 times of Sg), population 9,943,000, and so many cars that everywhere got jam...
ok..i took total 395 pics and a lot i wan to say abt it....dun noe where i shall start..maybe intro my travle buddies first..
starting from left: Emily,me,Don and Chrong Shin(newli know NUS Chem student)..this pic was taken in a restaurant when we were there 飲早茶...

mm...since i've mentioned the food maybe i can start from the food there first.. it's awesome and much cheaper than HK, but this doesn't mean HK food is not as good as guangzhou's..and though it's all 粵菜...it actualli taste different..the next pic u see is the first meal we had for lunch: it consists of 4 main courses,2 plates of dumplines, 3 soyabeans, 1 bottle of beer and one ginger-milk dessert, guess how much it cost?

i am holding a bottle of 珠江啤酒,tastes good..it seems that every city got their own beer...like hangzhou got westlake beer..heh...

the answer is : less than SGD10, jaws dropping? even me is shocked, it never happened in Shanghai or Hangzhou..
another special dish which i think is the most yummy..called : 金瓜排骨盅...basicalli they cook the ribs first and then put it in the pumpkin steam for maybe half an hour...

the dim sum we had for the 早茶...not all r included..=)

we had 普爾茶in this small teacup...cute rite..

the following pics are taken in 黃埔軍校舊址,an old and famous military school.it is on a island which is realli at the edge of GuangZhou..it took me 2 hours to reach by bus and ferry...

yeah,中國萬歲! proud to be a Chinese!

the pretty 珠江夜景,it's 1 min walking distance from my hotel...
tho i think HK victoria Harbour and Hangzhou Westlake night views are better ..

next place i gonna mention is 西漢南越王博物館,a museum for a emperor's tomb...

wonder what this is?...it is a pillow!

this is how the tomb is divided:

and i am going into it! the gate of the ante chamber!

a piece of clothe made by pure jade! cos at that time the emperor believed that jade can keep his body eternal

the museum keeps lots of stuff from the tomb, the emporer was buried together with his 4 concubines, musicians, servers and treasures, this is a jade figure which i think is v exquisite

the exterior of the museum display area,

中山紀念堂:a place i so much wanted to visit that i get up at 8 that morning to go but v bu qiao, there was a meeting on that day so not open to visitors, ahhh....遺憾...

天河城:one of the biggest shopping malls in GZ, and i was lucky that day there was a advertising show for A-HA coffee, admit it: GZ gals r not as pretty as 江南gals...=)

Peking Road : 北京路步行街, definitely a place for shoppers

some interesting buy with decent prices - by one of the sg fren from a wholesale market...go China if u like those stuff..

last picture b4 i end this long blog! 熱愛祖國!love ur own country
