厦门--Day 1....(Pics will be up when back to HK)

a very happening day with my fren n her elder Sis!
we went 集美-Jimei today, one of the 5 sections of Xiamen city. the other 4 are: 厦门岛,杏林,同安 and 海沧.
Jimei is famous mainly because of Mr.Tan Kah-kee and his Jimei University. the buildings are v stylo and unique... which makes me feel proud of civil engineering...hehe..
i spend like half an day there visiting Tan kah-kee park, his tomb and the famous Jimei Uni and Jimei High school. it was so big that it is actualli called Jimei School Village.
the lunch was simple but consists of all the local specialities: 水煮活鱼,同安封肉,土笋冻。i will introudce the last dish to u in details with the pic...guarantee it shocks u!
end of the Jimei, we took the bus which goes ard the Xiamen island. after back to my fren's house which is at the south part of island n near to Xiamen University, we had a quick dinner ( i was actualli still full cos of lunch ) and we head strict to the shopping street: ZhongShan Road...i should say that Mr.Sun Zhongshan must be famous in every part of China if the all the ZhongShan roads r named after him cos at least i know ShangHai, HangZhou, GuangZhou and Xiamen all have it and seems it is always a big n prosperous street. i bought lots of things of cos : clothes, accessories, snacks, gifts, books, magazines and pirated dvds-(i bot 5 SETS of korean n Jap dramas, can u believe it? more than enuff to entertain me until the day i back to sg)...hehe...
on the way back, i saw Gu-Lang-yu Island in colorful neon lights...realli pretty but i am in bus which is too shaky for me to take a pic...anyway my tomol plan is to visit the island, so tomol yah..
i walked too much in boots today and my feet r so tiring now...heard from my "tour guide" that we will climb a moutain tomol...how exciting?? hehe...i am really gratful to my fren and her family for giving me such a wonderful trip here!
sleep sleep...so i won't fall asleep again tomol in bus..tsk tsk...
